Established in 2024, Voltage Magazine started as a dissertation project for my third year at De Montfort University in Leicester however I decided I wanted it to be more. During my years studying to be a journalist, I saw how misrepresented and how underrepresented LGBTQ+ people were in mass media. This is something that needs to change. Voltage is leading that change.
Voltage is electric, it is powerful, it's bold and striking. Just like the amazing individuals within this community. This name stuck in my head throughout the creation of this project and no other name began to sound right. So after many hours of trying to find a name to fit this publication. I decided on Voltage. I believe it fits the overall vibe!
My name is Delta and my pronouns are He/Him. I am 21 years old and I am based in Leicester, UK. I am currently in my third year at De Montfort University taking my Journalism (BA) degree. I have worked in the past with Parallel Lives Network and as of 2024, I am a John Schofield Fellow. I am incredibly proud of Voltage and I hope that if my work can help, inspire, or make at least one person feel heard, I have succeeded as a Journalist.
At Voltage, These are the promises we will keep for our publication.
Together let's write the next chapter of LGBTQ+ history.
At Voltage, These are the ethics we will provide for our publication.
